Summer Food Service Program to provide free children's meals at UW-Eau ClaireMay 6, 2013
EAU CLAIRE — The Summer Food Service Program to promote good nutrition will once again be held at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The program provides nutritious meals to children during the summer when free and reduced-price school meals are unavailable.
The program, which is funded by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, is sponsored on the UW-Eau Claire campus by the Wisconsin Youth Success Program, Upward Bound, Blugold Beginnings and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
Free meals will be made available to eligible children 18 years of age and under. Persons over 18 years of age who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and who also participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well.
All free meals will be served in Hilltop Center. Service sponsors and dates will be as follows:
- Wisconsin Youth Success Program, June 17-July 12 (no camp July 3-5)
- Upward Bound, June 17-July 26
- Blugold Beginnings, June 24-28, July 14-18, July 29-Aug. 1, Aug. 5-8

Meals are provided to eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of meal service.
