EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education will offer a Summer Writing Camp for aspiring writers in grades 7-10. The camp will be held from 9 a.m.-noon June 24-28 on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
The writing camp will explore storytelling in fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Students will create written and digital stories in styles and subjects of their choice. Students' best writing will be compiled and published in a camp chapbook.
Dr. Carey Applegate, UW-Eau Claire assistant professor of English, will lead the instructional team of faculty, teachers, community professionals and college students. The camp curriculum is aligned with Wisconsin's Common Core State Standards for Writing.
