Women's Chorus to present spring concert April 29April 24, 2013

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will perform its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. April 29 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The choir, under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Pétillot, lecturer of voice, will open its concert with "Double Trouble" by John Williams. Other featured pieces include "It Was a Lover and His Lass" by Thomas Morley and "Spring" by John Stainer. Sophomore Naomi Robinson, Duluth, Minn., soprano, and sophomore Emillie Hines, Clayton, alto, will be featured during "My Sister's Hands" by Sally DeFord. The evening will close with "Sisters" from "My Girls" by Gwyneth Walker.
The Women's Chorus consists of 50 women from a variety of UW-Eau Claire academic programs. Members are selected through audition, and the group performs one concert each semester in Gantner Concert Hall, as well as other concerts throughout the year.
Tickets, available online and at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, 17 and younger, and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.
