SUBJECT: Mark Bugher to discuss university-business partnerships April 10
Members of the media are invited to cover a presentation by Eau Claire native Mark Bugher about successful university-business partnerships from 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the Dulany Inn on the first floor of the Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Bugher, who has been the director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's University Research Park since 1999, will draw upon his experiences at UW-Madison in discussing the evolving role universities play in economic development and job creation and what that means for UW-Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley.
Before serving as director of the University Research Park, Bugher was secretary of Wisconsin's Department of Revenue from 1988-96 and secretary of the state's Department of Administration from 1996-99, both under then Gov. Tommy Thompson. Previously he was home secretary for U.S. Rep. Steve Gunderson.
