Guest artist Dylan Chmura-Moore to perform U.S.- and world-premiere pieces Feb. 10

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present a guest artist recital featuring Dr. Dylan Chmura-Moore, trombone, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Chmura-Moore's recital will feature the U.S. premiere of Neal Farwell's "Rouse," which will introduce the eMute, eMouth and uSlide; the U.S. premiere of the award-winning "BaKaTaKaBaKa" by Daniel Moreira; and the world premiere of a new arrangement of Frederic Rzewski's "Last Judgment."
Chmura-Moore, assistant professor of music at UW Oshkosh, is a performer and advocate of contemporary music and has had a voice in the premieres of numerous compositions. He frequently performs in collaboration with dancers, painters and performance artists and seeks to exploit new technology in performance.
He holds a bachelor of music degree from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music; two master of music degrees — one in trombone and the other in conducting — from the New England Conservatory of Music; and a doctor of musical arts degree from UW-Madison.
