UW-Eau Claire chancellor search progress continuesJanuary 8, 2013
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's chancellor search is progressing on schedule.
The search and screen committee has completed its initial review of applicants and has identified a group of candidates to be interviewed confidentially by the committee at a neutral site in the coming weeks, said committee chair Dr. Rama Yelkur, a faculty member in the university's College of Business.
The committee will then determine five finalists to recommend to UW System President Kevin Reilly and a special committee of the UW System Board of Regents for further consideration, Yelkur said.
The search is progressing in keeping with the timeline established at the start of the process, Yelkur said. During February and March, finalists will visit the UW-Eau Claire campus to meet with members of the university community as well as local community leaders, followed by interviews in Madison with Reilly and the special regent committee. Reilly is expected to make an announcement of the chancellor designate in April, with the new chancellor appointment by the full Board of Regents expected at the regents meeting April 4-5 at UW-La Crosse.
