EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of art & design and Downtown Eau Claire Inc. will host a photography exhibition by advanced photography students from Dec. 7-12 at the Brickhouse Gallery, 138 Graham Ave., in downtown Eau Claire.
The exhibition, titled "Redirection," will feature works by UW-Eau Claire junior Xiangyun Chen, China; senior Brandon Jenness, Eau Claire; sophomore Ryan Kann, Rice Lake; senior Sara Meyer, Clayton; senior Jamie Nelson, Edina, Minn.; senior Phillip Schladweiler, Hager City; postbaccalaureate student Shaina Sieh, Courtland, Minn.; and senior Alison Wheeler, Viroqua.
Until recently, the Brickhouse Gallery was a vacant storefront, but the unused space became an excellent location for her art students to exhibit their photographs in the Eau Claire community, said Jyl Kelley, assistant professor of photography.
An opening reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 in the gallery, with brief artist presentations beginning at 7 p.m. The gallery also will be open from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 7 for downtown Eau Claire's First Fridays art event, from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 12, and by appointment.
