FIJI Dunk-a-Thon Dec. 12 to raise funds for American Red Cross
November 28, 2012EAU CLAIRE — Members of the Epsilon Chi chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will break out their swim trunks for the fraternity's fourth consecutive FIJI Dunk-a-Thon Dec. 12.
The annual service event, which raises funds for the American Red Cross, will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. outside the main entrance to Zorn Arena. Anyone who makes a donation has the opportunity to dunk a FIJI member, who in past years have been dunked in December temperatures as low 15 degrees. After raising an average of $1,400 for its main philanthropy organization in the event's first three years, the fraternity hopes to surpass its 2012 goal of $2,000.
Those who wish to make early donations may contact Curtis Matton, service chair of Phi Gamma Delta, at mattonce@uwec.edu.
Greek Life is advised by the Activities, Involvement and Leadership office of the University Centers.
