Students to help community members during 'Tidy up the Town' event Oct. 28October 22, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 11th annual Tidy up the Town event will be held Oct. 28 in locations throughout the Eau Claire area.
Students and other volunteers will meet in the lobby of UW-Eau Claire's Human Science and Services Building at 12:45 p.m. and will carpool to various locations in Eau Claire. Participants will rake leaves for elderly and disabled community members.
The event is sponsored by ECLIPSE (Early Childhood Literacy Intervention Program, Services and Evaluation) at UW-Eau Claire. ECLIPSE, an AmeriCorps program with a focus on early childhood literacy, also participates in community service projects. The group would appreciate the help of anyone who is able and willing to volunteer for the event.
Volunteering with ECLIPSE also can help UW-Eau Claire students fulfill their service-learning requirement.
For more information about the event or volunteering, contact Kaleigh Meek, ECLIPSE volunteer coordinator, at email@example.com.
