Donation drive supports UW-Eau Claire students displaced by fire

EAU CLAIRE — A donation drive is under way at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in support of the two surviving students displaced by an Oct. 8 apartment fire that killed two of their roommates.

Gift cards, school supplies and monetary donations may be dropped off from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today through Oct. 12 at donation tables near the Service Center in UW-Eau Claire's Davies Student Center, or at the Service Center anytime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Checks should be made payable to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, with "fire victims donation drive" indicated on the memo line. Credit card donations may be made online at by selecting "Give now" and indicating "fire victims donation drive" in the gift information field of the online form.

Garret Isakson, a junior management major, and Casey Malan, a senior English major, survived the fire that destroyed their Water Street residence. Ross Livermore, a sophomore computer science major, and Jacob Clarkson, a senior physics major, died from injuries sustained in the fire.

The donation drive is sponsored by the Student Services Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
