Service-learning projects in Costa Rica to be featured during Oct. 11 presentation
October 8, 2012EAU CLAIRE — Representatives from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's study abroad program in Costa Rica will present "Community Involvement in Service-Learning — an example of sustainable projects in Costa Rica" Oct. 11 as part of the Trash Talks lecture series.
The presentation, by Dionisio and Courtney Zamora and Diego and Kim Villfuerte, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Towers Hall South basement social room. The group will discuss past service-learning projects involving UW-Eau Claire students in Costa Rica. A guided open discussion to explore how to involve more community members in service-learning will follow.
The Housing and Residence Life sustainability office hosts Trash Talks on a variety of environmental sustainability issues throughout the year. The presentations are free and open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.
