UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education to offer Math Quest for elementary students

September 27, 2012

MathQuestEAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education will offer Math Quest, an enrichment class for first- through fifth-grade students who are looking for an extra challenge in math. Classes will be held Saturday mornings, Jan. 12-March 16, from 9:30-11 a.m. on the UW-Eau Claire campus.

Math Quest provides hands-on activities and real-life examples to develop children's
problem-solving skills. The program curriculum emphasizes mastery of math concepts rather than memorization of facts and formulas. Initial placement is based on student comprehension, regardless of age or grade level. Students advance at their own pace through seven levels from basic computation through pre-algebra.

Math Quest tuition is $195 per student, which includes 15 hours of instruction and one textbook for each math level. Tuition for two or more children from the same household is $175 per student.
