Students returning to UW-Eau Claire this fall will notice big changes on lower campus. Since students left in May, the new Davies Center was completed and opened for business, Campus School was torn down, much progress was made on construction of the new Education Building, the old Davies Center was torn down, work started on a new green space where the former student union stood and a Little Niagara Creek restoration project began. An Aug. 29 email message from Dean of Students Brian Carlisle gave students an overview of the changes and links to FAQs giving details about getting around campus, parking changes and what they can expect in the new Davies Center.

Thursday, Aug. 30
- Residence hall move-in day for new UW-Eau Claire students begins at 8 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 31
- Residence hall move-in day for returning UW-Eau Claire students begins at 8 a.m.
- A picnic for new students begins at 6 p.m. behind Putnam and Thomas residence halls on lower campus, followed by a campus welcome at 7:30 p.m. in Zorn Arena. CUBEFest, featuring activities to help integrate new students into the UW-Eau Claire community, will kick off at 9 p.m. with an outdoor movie behind Thomas Hall.
Saturday, Sept. 1
- The Davies Center Housewarming Party, a student celebration of UW-Eau Claire's new student center, will run from 6:30 p.m.-1 a.m. The celebration will be open to all students and include activities throughout the new facility. See a full event schedule.
