New Berlin freshman awarded Brian Stricklin Memorial ScholarshipJuly 9, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin Eau Claire freshman Alex Munger, New Berlin, has been awarded a Brian Stricklin Memorial Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.
The scholarship, designated for an outstanding student from Waukesha County entering UW-Eau Claire, was established with memorial and family gifts received by the UW-Eau Claire Foundation in memory of Brian Stricklin, a UW-Eau Claire alumnus who died suddenly at his home in Waukesha in August 2004.
Stricklin was an honor student at Waukesha West High School and a business major who graduated with honors from UW-Eau Claire in May 2004. He was an avid gamer and was an active member and officer of the UW-Eau Claire Gamers Guild. Preference for the scholarship in his name is given to applicants who plan to major in business and/or have an interest in gaming, environmental protection or study abroad opportunities.
UW-Eau Claire is frequently recognized as one of the nation's best educational values. U.S. News & World Report magazine consistently names UW-Eau Claire among the best public regional universities in the Midwest.
