Haas Fine Arts parking lot reconstruction to begin July 5July 3, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — Reconstruction of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Haas Fine Arts parking lot, Second Avenue south of Water Street and the circular drive at the Haas Fine Arts Center's southwest entrance will begin July 5, and parking is unavailable in the lot as of today.
The initial project start date of June 15 was rescheduled by the Division of State Facilities of the Wisconsin Department of Administration. The project will run at least through the end of August.
The Water Street parking lot has been reconfigured to accommodate the loss of parking spots in the Haas Fine Arts lot during construction. (See a campus map to view the locations of the two lots.) Those with university parking permits should consult posted signs to ensure they park in the appropriate row for their permit type.
During the Haas Fine Arts lot reconstruction, the Haas Fine Arts Center south-facing doors, doors near the building's loading dock and the loading dock will be closed. The sidewalk along the south side of the Haas Fine Arts Center and Haas Fine Arts parking lot, Second Avenue south of Water Street (including sidewalks), the circular drive at the Haas Fine Arts Center's southwest entrance and the sidewalk on the east side of the Human Sciences and Services Building also will be closed.
Throughout the project, entry to and exit from the Haas Fine Arts Center will be via the building's north and east doors only. Pedestrian travel to and from the Human Sciences and Services Building will be along the sidewalk on the south side of Water Street. In addition, pedestrians will be able to enter and exit the Human Sciences and Services Building south doors from the west only.
