Music faculty to perform free Summer Sounds concert June 24

Summer Sounds graphicEAU CLAIRE — Five music faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a free concert at 2 p.m. June 24 in Phillips Recital Hall of the university's Haas Fine Arts Center.

The June 24 performance will feature Dr. Tim Lane on flute, Dr. Christa Garvey on oboe, Dr. Melissa Koprowski on clarinet, Dr. Tulio Rondón on cello and Lori Cruciani on piano.

The concert is part of the Summer Sounds series, which will feature free Sunday performances by UW-Eau Claire faculty, select students and guest artists. All concerts, which run through July 29, will be at 2 p.m. in the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The following are the featured performers and locations for the remaining Summer Sounds concerts:

  • July 1: Dr. Christa Garvey (oboe), Lori Cruciani (piano) and friends, Phillips Recital Hall.
  • July 8: The Wilson Duo (Dr. Jacqueline Wilson, bassoon, and guest artist Christopher Wilson, marimba), Phillips Recital Hall.
  • July 15: "An Afternoon of Dance" with Julie Fox and friends, Haas Fine Arts Center Room 190.
  • July 22: Dr. Owen Lovell, solo piano, Phillips Recital Hall.
  • July 29: Paul Kosower (UW-Eau Claire professor emeritus), solo cello, Phillips Recital Hall.
