UW-Eau Claire to resume public surplus sales June 21 in new location

June 18, 2012

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Surplus Store announces its grand reopening of public surplus sales from 3-6 p.m. June 21 in the store's new location, the Maintenance and Central Stores Building at 651 University Drive on upper campus.

Beginning July 12, public sales will continue every other Thursday from 3-6 p.m. Parking will be in the Towers Hall lot directly west of the Maintenance and Central Stores Building. (See campus map.)

Items for sale will include computers, printers and peripherals; office furniture, including chairs, desks and bookshelves; and miscellaneous audiovisual equipment. The Surplus Store also features a "Collector's Corner," an eclectic collection of unique and historic collectibles.

"We take pride in being able to find good homes for equipment and furniture no longer in use by the university," said Erik Simonsen, stores supervisor for UW-Eau Claire's Facilities Management division. "We have a goal to keep as much out of the landfill as possible."

In addition to in-store sales, UW-Eau Claire's Surplus Store sells items through the Wisconsin Surplus and UW System SWAP online auctions.
