Phillips lot project to block Putnam Drive stairway accessJune 11, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — Beginning today, reconstruction work in the UW-Eau Claire Phillips parking lot south of the new Davies Center will require closing off access to the wooden footbridge on the south side of the Phillips lot and the pedestrian way along the lot's south edge. This will block pedestrian travel between upper and lower campus via the Putnam Drive stairway. Travel between upper and lower campus must be via Garfield Avenue during the closure, which is expected to last at least two weeks.
Access to the university's Nursing Building from the southeast along Putnam Drive also will continue to be blocked due to work on the Phillips parking lot. Until further notice, access to the Nursing Building continues to be from the northwest along Putnam Drive only.
