UW-Eau Claire to sell plants May 16May 14, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire grounds department this week will sell a variety of plants and flowers that must be removed due to upcoming construction projects on campus. The plant sale will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. May 16.
Surplus Stores will run the event. All of the available plants and flowers will be marked prior to the day of the sale. Students, faculty, staff and members of the public who want to buy the plants will be allowed to dig them up to take home for a small fee.
A few shovels will be made available during the sale, but the plant sale organizers are encouraging people to bring their own shovels if possible. People also must bring their own containers to take the plants home.
Prices for each bucket of flowers or plants will be determined prior to the sale. Prices will range from $5-$15 per plant.
During the sale hours, a checkout area will be designated on the Campus Mall between Schofield Hall and Davies Center so people can pay for their items. All sales will be cash only; there will be no refunds or exchanges.
All plants will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. People cannot reserve plants they like in advance.
