The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball student organization places high at March tournament

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's volleyball student organization placed high at the recent Wisconsin Volleyball Conference State Championship tournament in Oshkosh.

The UW-Eau Claire A-team earned the title of the 2012 WVC Conference Champions with a perfect 6-0 match record.

The UW-Eau Claire B-team made it to the consolation championship, where it lost to UW-Oshkosh.

Individual results are as follows:

  • Junior Karen Sueppel, Grafton, was named the tournament's MVP, made the all-tournament team and all-conference this season.
  • Freshman Megan Padrutt, Cross Plains, made the all-tournament team this season.
  • Senior Leah Klink, Hartford, made the all-tournament team and all-conference team this season.
  • Freshman Emily Feiner, Cross Plains, made the all-conference team this season.
  • Sophomore Molly Collman, Lakeville, Minn., made the all-conference team this season.

UW-Eau Claire's volleyball student organization teams will play in the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Tournament April 5-7 in Kansas City, Mo., where the teams will play in the Division 1 AA category.
