Juried student art show to open April 5 in Foster GalleryApril 4, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 55th annual Juried Student Art Show will open with a reception at 7:30 p.m. April 5 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Art Center. The award winners and recipients of art scholarships will be announced at 8 p.m.
"It's a fun event and enlightening to see the art UW-Eau Claire students have created in the last year on display," said Tom Wagener, Foster Gallery director. "There are always some very creative works entered every year."
The juror for the show was Libby Rowe, assistant professor of art photography at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She also is an exhibiting artist in photography and recently presented an artist lecture to UW-Eau Claire art students.
The student art show will run through April 22.
Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4:30 p.m. weekends. The gallery will be closed April 7-8.
