Online certificate program for special education, pupil services directors to be offered

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension is now accepting applications for a 13-credit online graduate program that leads to Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification as a director of special education and pupil services (license code 80).

Created to meet the increasing demand for directors of special education and pupil services, the program is open to individuals with master's degrees and licensure in special education, school psychology or educational administration. The program may be applied toward a master's degree in special education from UW-Eau Claire. The online series begins June 4; the application deadline is April 1.

Designed to meet the needs of working professionals, the program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Courses in the series are:

  • "Special Education Law."
  • "Leadership in Special Education."
  • "Leadership in Pupil Services."
  • "Budget and Finance for Special Education and Pupil Services."
  • "Practicum: Leadership in Special Education and Pupil Services."
