EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host a guest artist recital featuring Jacques Ogg, Wilbert Hazelzet and Jaap ter Linden at 7:30 p.m. March 6 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

Each member of the trio is considered a world-renowned leading artist in the field of early music. The guest artists will be joined by UW-Eau Claire faculty members Dr. Tim Lane, professor of music, and Dr. Tulio Rondón, assistant professor of music.

The recital "is not only a great treat but a fantastic and rare opportunity for our students and community alike," Rondón said.

The recital will open with Trio Sonata for two flutes in D major by G.P. Telemann, followed by Sonata for cello in G minor by A. Vivaldi and Sonata for flute in B minor by J.S. Bach. Following intermission, the recital will resume with Sonata for two flutes in E minor by C.P.E. Bach and Sonata for cello in A major by J.C.F. Bach. The recital will conclude with Quartet for flute, two cellos and basso continuo in G major by G.P. Telemann.

Ogg, Hazelzet and Linden will lead master classes while at UW-Eau Claire. A baroque cello and viola da gamba master class with Linden will be held at 3:30 p.m. March 5, and a flute master class with Hazelzet will be held at 2 p.m. March 6, both in Phillips Recital Hall. Ogg will work with the UW-Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra at 2 p.m. March 6 in Gantner Concert Hall. All of the master classes are free and open to the public.
