The Service Center is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. weekends. Patrons also may charge their tickets to Discover, MasterCard or Visa when they order by phone. Call 715-836-3727 — or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free 800-949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders. There will be no online sales for this event.
The Viennese Ball is a formal event that recalls the culture, history and music of 19th-century Vienna. It promises the opportunity to dance waltzes and polkas from the Strauss Era, known as a golden age of romance and elegance. The ball also features many student and faculty ensembles and regional musicians, performing music from many different periods and eras. Proceeds and donations provide music, service and international study awards for UW-Eau Claire students.
The Annual Viennese Ball is presented by the University Centers in cooperation with the music and theatre arts department and the Center for International Education. The 2012 Viennese Ball will be the last to take place in the original Davies Center; the 39th Annual Viennese Ball will be presented in the new W.R. Davies Student Center that is under construction.
