UW-Eau Claire forensics team places second in tournament
February 13, 2012EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team placed second in team sweepstakes at the Twin Cities Forensics League Tournament Jan. 31 in Bloomington, Minn.
The team also qualified several students for the National Forensic Association and American Forensic Association tournaments.
Individual results for Jan. 31 are as follows:
·Sophomore Stephen Fong, Shorewood, placed first in persuasion, which qualified him for the American Forensic Association tournament.
·Junior Abby Rand, Melrose, placed fifth in in prose. She also placed first in informative speaking, which qualified her for the American Forensic Association tournament.
·Freshman Jake Stendahl, Forest Lake, Minn., took second in poetry and fourth in dramatic interpretation.
·Junior Megan Chilman, Le Sueur, Minn., placed sixth in poetry and also took second in dramatic interpretation, which qualified her for the American Forensic Association tournament.
·Freshman Miri Francis, St. Croix Falls, placed third in extemporaneous speaking, which qualified her for the National Forensic Association tournament.
·Junior Jessica Krentz, Weston, took second in communication analysis, which qualified her for the National Forensic Association tournament.
