Women's History Month organizers seek new ideas, event informationFebruary 3, 2012
EAU CLAIRE — Organizers of the March Women's History Month at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are asking members of the campus community to contact them with event ideas that will help bring attention to the historical contributions of women.
The 2012 theme of National Women's History Month is "Women's Education — Women's Empowerment," which will celebrate women's "valiant struggle" while fighting for the right to learn.
UW-Eau Claire's Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center, which has coordinated Women's History Month events for UW-Eau Claire since 2009, is inviting members of the campus community to offer ideas about how to celebrate Women's History Month this year.
"The 2012 theme of National Women's History month is especially exciting and relevant considering that UW-Eau Claire's student body is more than 60 percent female," said Abby Vercauteren, women's issues program coordinator. "I am hoping women on campus will be willing to share their own perspectives and experiences in celebration of this special and important month."
Information about National Women's History Month can be found online.
