Article discussion series focusing on social justice issues kicks off Feb. 8January 27, 2012
The monthly discussions will begin at 6 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month throughout the spring 2012 semester. All sessions will be held in the commons area of Towers Hall on upper campus.
The Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center will host the article discussions, each of which will address a different women's or LGBTQ issue. The discussion series provides students with opportunities to discuss social justice issues outside of a classroom setting.
Topics for the spring semester article discussion series are as follows:
- Feb. 8 — Female genital cutting.
- March 7 — Women in the workplace.
- April 4 — "White Knight Syndrome" and sexual assault.
- May 2 — Women and religion.
The discussions are free and open to the public.
