Your segregated fees pay for your textbooks in almost all courses. Some courses do require purchased books.
Pick up your books from the Instructional Resource Rental (IRR) Center, located in the bookstore. You must have your Blugold ID Card and your class schedule.
- Text books may be picked up each semester early, before classes begin.
- You must return your books on or before the last day of final exams to avoid fines.
- If you wish, you may purchase your text books prior to the last three weeks of the semester.
- Keep all receipts in the event of a return.
Getting Your Blugold ID Card
Once you've registered for classes, get your Blugold ID card from the Blugold Card Office in Davies Center 110.
You will need your ID card for getting your textbooks, checking out library materials, riding the Eau Claire city buses for free, purchasing discounted tickets for university events, etc.
Deposit money in your Blugold account and your Blugold ID Card can also be a "debit card," for everything from food in a cafeteria, to pop out of a machine, to mailing a package at the Service Center.
Partners can get a Blugold ID card for $15.00 and use it much as a student does.
Campus Parking . . . or Park and Ride
Parking permits are required in all University lots between 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or as posted (McPhee is 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Parking permits can be purchased from Blugold Central, located in Old Library 2100. There are designated S (Student) spaces in the Phillips, Water Street and McPhee lots. If S spaces in these lots are full, parking is allowed in upper campus R spaces Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. After 3:00 p.m. each day in most lots, permit parking lots are open to all vehicles without a permit, but do not park in “G” (Guaranteed Faculty) slots without a “G” sticker – you will be ticketed.
No permits are required in metered zones, but meters are enforced year round during posted hours and cost 75¢ per hour. Follow parking instructions closely as tickets will be issued and fines are expensive!

All UWEC students only need to show their Blugold ID Card to ride any city bus anytime, anywhere for free. Check out the University Bus System schedule.
