IRE Campus Reading Seminar Grant Recipients

The UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity's Campus Reading Seminar grants support reading groups and scholarly exchanges on racial/ethnic subjects by making funds available for the purchase of books that focus on racial/ethnic themes.

Four grants for reading seminars were awarded to UW–Eau Claire this year:

  • Mary Jane Brukardt, of the Chancellor’s Office
  • Donna Raleigh, of NET
  • Colleen McFarland, of the McIntyre Library
  • Jill Pinkney Pastrana, of the Foundations of Education department

UW System SoTL Impact Study


(Excerpted from a white paper by Renee Meyers, Coordinator of the UW System Leadership Site for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, September 2007)

In fall, 2006, the UW System Leadership Site for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) developed a Web-based survey to assess the impact of SoTL on the UW System. All Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars for the past several years were contacted and invited to complete the survey. In addition, all faculty and administrative representatives to the Office of Professional and Instructional Development Council were contacted and asked to distribute information about the survey and request completion from faculty on their respective campuses. The result was that 223 faculty from across the system completed the survey. Respondents from each of the fourteen campuses were represented; 22 respondents were from Eau Claire. Read more...
