Take a look backstage into University Theatre's production of Mozart's The Magic Flute.
In Mozart’s fantastical opera The Magic Flute, the great composer’s final masterpiece, good triumphs over evil and young lovers (both bird and human!) are united. Featuring a large and dazzling cast of characters including a vengeful queen, a bumbling bird catcher, a courageous prince, an imprisoned princess, and a kingdom of mystical and magical humans and animals, this timeless gem of the operatic repertoire is sure to enchant the entire family. From the effervescent overture to the virtuosic arias of the Queen of the Night and the unforgettable folksong-like melodies of the prince’s unlikely side-kick Papageno, Mozart’s music takes center stage and his characters delight and charm. Sung in German with English dialogue and supertitles, the opera will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Nobu Yasuda. Come enjoy one of the most popular operas of all time!
