Our Spring 2011 Theatre for Young Audiences Tour will perform at area elementary schools for grades 1-5. The Falcon is an adaptation of the Russian folk tale, Fenist the Bright Falcon. Set in the Caucasian mountains of Soviet Georgia, Anna is to marry Tevdore, a solid farm boy next door. Into their engagement party comes a Story Teller, offering glimpses of a different, enchanting world. He speaks of another Anna who posses a magic falcon feather that turns into Fenist, a prince. When Fenist is driven off by Anna's jealous sisters and captured by a powerful Tsarevna, Anna sets off to rescue him, aided by a magic ball and three mysterious sisters. Eventually, the real Anna must decide between the security of Tevdore or the adventure of Fenist.
