Allison Ostrander, violinist, currently performs as a member of the Minnesota Opera (serving as Concertmaster for half of the 2006-07 season), the Iris Chamber Orchestra, the Four Voices String Quartet and as a regular substitute violin with the Minnesota Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.  Previously, she has held positions with the Naples Philharmonic, the New World Symphony, the Aspen Music Festival orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Spoleto festival, and has appeared on Garrison Keillor's, A Prairie Home Companion.  In addition to her performing schedule, Ms. Ostrander maintains a private violin studio and was appointed lecturer of viola and violin at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2007.  An avid chamber musician, she has participated in the chamber music series in Spoleto as well as in the Painted Sky Chamber Music Festival held in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Her teachers include Margaret Pressely, Vartan Manoogian, David Perry and Paul Kantor.  She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in violin performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
