Beloit Memorial High School
Beloit Memorial High School is located in Beloit, Wisconsin and enrolls about 1800 students in grades 9-12. Courses offered to students in the Performing Arts Department consist of ensemble classes in choir, orchestra, and band to more independent courses in music theory, music composition, music technology, and acting classes.
Choir classes offered to students are Treble Choir, Men's Chorus, Varsity Women's Choir, Concert Choir, and an extra curricular Vocal Jazz Choir. Enrollment in choir at BMHS has gone from 110 students two years ago to over 220 students this upcoming year. The Concert Choir is the top auditioned choral ensemble at the high school. Due to changes in course scheduling, its size has varied from 24 all the way to 60.
The Concert Choir travels every year, rotating between trips close to Beloit and further away. This year, they will be traveling to New York in the spring to put on a full-length concert at a cathedral downtown.
The Concert Choir traditionally collaborates with the Beloit Janesville Symphony at least once every school year as well as with choirs from UW-Rock County. They have consistently received superior rankings from WSMA Concert Group Festivals as well as the Dixie Classic Festival in Chicago, Illinois in 2012.
The BMHS Concert Choir is honored and excited to be featured here today at the 22nd Annual Clearwater Choral Festival at UW-Eau Claire. We hope you enjoy our performance!
