Coon Rapids Concert Choir
The Coon Rapids Concert Choir is a seventy-three member auditioned ensemble that consists of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. They are the top curricular choir in a program of 270 students. The choir has performed for and been praised by Joseph Jennings, René Clausen, Westen Noble, Larry Kaptein, Edith Copley, Christopher Cock, Tim Sawyer, Axel Theimer, Moses Hogan, Ann Howard Jones and members of Chanticleer. The choir meets for 67 minutes every day and performs between fifteen and twenty performances a year including the annual Anoka-Hennepin School District Choir Gala in the Great Hall at Bethel College.The choir has performed in several state conventions and the ACDA regional convention in 2004.
Patrick Geiger, Conductor
Patrick Geiger is currently in his twenty-second year as the director of choral music activities at Coon Rapids High School and in his fourteenth year as the Chancel Choir director at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids. Patrick has served as the President of the Minnesota Music Educators' Association from 2009 to the present. A specialist in assessment, Patrick has presented at Minnesota state conventions and several school districts. His articles have been published in state and national journals. In 1997, he was a finalist for the Teachers Outstanding Performance Award in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. Patrick is a magna cum laude graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead and received his Masters in the Arts from St. Thomas University in St. Paul.
