Currently, Ms. Butcher serves as the new Teaching Artist for the Minnesota Opera's education programs. While continuing to pursue a professional career in opera, she has also begun a second master's degree in speech pathology, at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, with a special interest in vocology for professional singers and speakers. With a mother of German heritage and a father from the West Indian island of Barbados, Ms. Butcher attributes her exotic features and much of her drive to her loving family.

Ms. Butcher holds a B. M. - Voice Performance degree from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and a M. M. - Voice Performance degree with honors from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.

Bryan Lemke (coach/accompanist) returns The Minnesota Opera's Resident Artist Program for a second season after spending a summer with Des Moines Metro Opera as apprentice musical coach, where he prepared excerpts for the scenes program, assisted with chorus preparation, and played mainstage rehearsals. He recently received his Master of Music in Vocal Accompanying from the University of Kansas, where he served as coach/accompanist for productions of Albert Herring, Così fan tutte, and A Faust Project. In addition, he led student productions of Dialogues of the Carmelites and The Consul. In 2004, Mr. Lemke served as Associate Conductor with the College Light Opera Company, where he acted as chorusmaster, principal coach and accompanist and had the opportunity to conduct performances of Carousel, Brigadoon, The Yeomen of the Guard, Lady Be Good and Into the Woods .

Mr. Lemke received his undergraduate degree in piano performance from Bethel University in St. Paul , MN . While at Bethel, he appeared onstage as Tony in West Side Story and Benny in Guys & Dolls , as well as conducting and musically directing The Music Man.

Jamie Andrews, Community Education Director for the Minnesota Opera, has created outreach programs to connect to students of all ages. The programs include extensive opportunities for students, teachers and adults through in-school residencies, singing internships for high school students, resources for teachers, and adult education classes. Most significant he has overseen the creation of Project Opera, a youth opera company that involves students in grades 4-12. This program offers participants opportunities to explore the art form of opera through hands on activities like staging an age-appropriate opera every year. Jamie comes to the Opera from an education background. With a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, he taught band and choir in Minnesota for a number of years prior to coming to The Minnesota Opera.
