The UW-Eau Claire Voice and Choral Area of the Music and Theatre Arts Department is proud to host the 2011 NATS Intern program. Twelve early career voice teachers from around the United States will gather on the UW-Eau Claire campus from June 7-17 and will be mentored by four master voice teachers with the goal of improving their own voice teaching skills. Twenty-four student singers from UW-Eau Claire and Eau Claire high schools will participate in the program, taking voice lessons from the interns and performing on a final recital open to the public on Thursday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall in the Haas Fine Arts Center.
All lectures, masterclasses, and recitals are open to the public. See the link in the left-hand menu for a full schedule. Please contact Dr. Mitra Sadeghpour (msadeghp@uwec.edu) with any questions.

Within a format designed to promote the dynamic exchange of ideas and techniques, the goal is to improve substantially the studio teaching skills of these promising young teachers. Each intern will teach four lessons to two students (one male and one female) and perform in a master class under the supervision of a master teacher. In addition, the master teachers, Cynthia Vaughn (vocal literature liaison), and special guests will present lectures and demonstrations. |
