Tapestry Dance Company - The Souls of Our Feet: A Celebration of American Tap Dance

The Souls of Our Feet puts tap dancing history into a two-hour montage of film and live performance, drawing on sources ranging from the soft-shoe of Charles "Honi" Coles to the slam-bam flesxibility of the Nicholas Brothers. Tapestry Artistic Director Acia Gray says the show's extended life has given the dancers a chance to inhabit the past.

Larry Yazzie, Fancy Dancer - Honoring the Spirit

Raised on the Meskwaki Indian Settlement in Central Iowa, Larry Yazzie (Meskwaki/Dine) began dancing at the age of seven. Throughout his childhood he was instructed in the traditions of the Meskwaki People, including the flamboyant and energetic fancy dance and the northern Plains style of singing.

Moscow Ballet - Great Russian Nutcracker

With an all-Russian cast renowned for exquisite dancing, choreography by Artistic Director Anatoli Emelianov and spectacular scenic design by Valentin Fedorov, the 15th Anniversary U.S. tour of Great Russian Nutcracker is a must-see production! Luminaries of the Perm, Vaganova, Kiev and Moscow Academic Choreographic schools will present Emelianov's unique setting of Nutcracker, incorporating an etherel Dove in Act II, "the Land of Peace and Harmony." The Dove leads Masha and the Nutcracker Prince to a land where there are no wars or suffering and all creatures live in harmony.
