Dance at UW-Eau Claire

There are many opportunities for you to dance at UW-Eau Claire.

The minor is composed of studio, theory, and interdisciplinary studies courses. The studio courses meet twice a week for 1 1/2 hours and are offered once every 3 semesters. These courses may be taken for repeatable credit. The theory courses are offered once each year. Interdisciplinary course work is offered most semesters, but students are encouraged to meet with their advisor to plan selections that are most appropriate to their interest and academic major. Dance minors will be guaranteed a place in all studio and theory courses.

The Company has approximately 40 members who work M-F from 3-6pm as their schedules allow. The company classes offer dance experiences in tap, jazz, ballet and modern dance, as well as African and Middle Eastern dance. The company stages a concert every spring. In addition, students attend the American College Dance Festival for adjudications and to take class from master teachers. Auditions for dancers and choreography are held early in the Fall Semester. Check the Call Board for specific dates and times. For more information go to the Concert Dance Company web site.
