Applied Mathematics at UWEC
At UWEC, you can be a mathematics major with an applied emphasis. This is a standard, 36 credit major, and requires a 24 credit minor.
Students take the liberal arts core: the calculus sequence, Linear Algebra, Introduction to Real Analysis, and Abstract Algebra. This core consists of 22 credits.
Students then take at least 14 elective credits from a wide selection of upper level courses such as Differential Equations and Linear Algebra, Digital Signal Processing, Fourier Optics, Numerical Analysis, and Mathematical Modeling.
