Undergraduate Research

Undergraduates majoring in mathematics can
do original research with
professors during the academic year and the summer.  Projects are
drawn from pure and applied mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, and actuarial science.  Students can receive research stipends funded through the Blugold Commitment Differential Tuition program.

Students present their work at our annual Spring Math Retreat and at the university-wide Celebration of Excellence in Research and Creative Activity, as well as regional and national conferences.

To get started doing research, talk to a math professor about possible projects.  You can also browse this list of past projects for ideas.
