about this tutorial graphic How to Begin

The intent of this tutorial is to provide assistance to off-campus learners who:

  • Do not have access to on-campus library instruction

  • Want a refresher on how to conduct research

This tutorial will help you:

  1. Identify information needs.
  2. Locate information.
  3. Evaluate what you find.
  4. Effectively use information.
There are seven modules (listed under CONTENTS), which can be completed in any order. Begin with any module that will help to heighten your comprehension of the research process.

Each module has an objective statement and the featured topic material, which can be completed in 20 minutes or less. If you are new to the research process, you may want to work through the natural order of the modules as you progress through the research steps.
