Student Study Rooms

McIntyre Library offers a variety of Study Rooms to accommodate students looking for a quiet place to study as well as groups or teams who need a private meeting room with a computer. Study rooms with computers include popular software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Skype, as well as internet access. Reservations Strongly Encouraged! Study Rooms are typically in high demand; making a reservation can save you and your group time and space! You can make a reservation for Study Rooms by clicking here and logging in with your UW-Eau Claire log-in information. The library offers the following Study Rooms for students (each for 2-hour check out periods).

  • Study Room, 1-2 people (no computer)
  • Study Room, 2-3 people (includes Windows PC)

  • Study Room, 3-5 people (includes a Windows PC or a Mac)

  • Study Room, 6-10 people (includes a Windows PC)

  • Listening Room (includes a TV with DVD player/VCR).

  • Collaborative Room (includes a large screen monitor capable of displaying students' laptops)

  • Presentation Room (includes Windows PC, microphone, and remote for slide shows)

Family Friendly Study Room (L101)
Located on the lower level in the IMC, this room is available on a first-come, first-served basis to students or faculty members accompanied by a child. The key is available for check-out with a Blugold card at the circulation desk. The facility contains a computer, printer, television, VCR, DVD player and furniture, plus toys, videos, coloring books and crayons.

Faculty Rooms
Faculty may apply for library rooms by contacting the Director's office at 715-836-4827.

Library Conference Room (L3020)
The third floor conference room includes a sink and whiteboards and seats 20-25. Make a reservation in the Director's office at 715-836-4827.

Graduate and Nontraditional Student Study Room (L5029)
Room L5029 is a large study room for graduate and nontraditional students only. The room contains computers and study carrels as well as lounge space. Access is by combination lock, and students can get the combination from the Circulation Desk with their Blugold card. Nontraditional students will need a letter from the Nontraditional Student Services Office. Lockers in this room are available for rent at the Circulation Desk. The charge is $10.00 per locker, per semester.

Student Presentation Room (L5020)

Students can use this room to practice and record presentations. The room is equipped with an LCD screen, a computer, a camera, a microphone, and a DVD recorder. DVDs for saving presentations can be purchased at the Circulation Desk for $1 each. The room can be reserved in person or online, for a 2-hour time slot, and the key can be picked up at the Circulation Desk with a Blugold Card. Make a reservation.

Library Breezeway (L2022)
The McIntyre Library breezeway is available to campus groups and departments for meetings, receptions and other special events. The room features tables, chairs and lounge furniture that can be moved around to suit your needs. Large windows on the east and west side of the room give bright, sunny views of the campus. The Center for Writing Excellence (L2003A)

Provides a comfortable atmosphere for a one-to-one session with a qualified writing assistant and is located on the second floor of the library.
