Indian Laws and TreatiesComplete text of Volume 2 (Treaties) of Charles J. Kappler's 7-volume Indian Affairs: Laws and Treaties, originally published in 1903-04. Vols. 1 and 3-7 cover laws and executive orders. Once the project by Oklahoma State University Library is finished (Volumes I and III will be completed by the end of 2000), the complete legal text of all treaties between the United States Government and sovereign Indian nations (1770-1890), along with laws and executive orders, will be available to anyone with a computer. Vol. 2 contains the full text of 380 treaties with Native American Indian tribes organized by year. The site includes an index and keyword search engine.
