Anyone is welcome to come into McIntyre Library and use its resources
If you are enrolled at an institution other than UW-Eau Claire, you are encouraged to contact your institution's library first to find out what services and resources are available to you. Because it is McIntyre Library's mission to select and build collections supporting the curriculum and research interests at UW-Eau Claire, we may not necessarily provide access to the kinds of materials you need for courses taken from other institutions.
In addition to using resources within the building, you may search the McIntyre Library online catalog remotely.
If McIntyre Library has material that you would like to use, but you are unable to come into the library, you may be able to borrow the item through the Interlibrary Loan service at your institution's library or your local public library. If you are a student at another UW campus, you may be able to borrow the item through Universal Borrowing (UB). Please check with your library about the availability of these services.
You can use McIntyre Library databases by logging into one of the computers. Public access is available on the first bank on the first floor and all 5 computers in the basement.
Remote access to most UW-Eau Claire electronic databases is restricted to students registered at UW-Eau Claire. You may have access to some of these databases through your institution's library or your public library. If you are a Wisconsin citizen, some of these databases are available to you through BadgerLink, a statewide initiative providing access to thousands of magazine, journal and newspaper articles, government documents and other resources.
If you are a student from another campus and are enrolled in a UW-Eau Claire distance education course, please contact your instructor for logon information enabling you to use UW-Eau Claire databases for the duration of the course.
Off-campus library users may obtain borrowing privileges from McIntyre Library in one of two ways:
