Is the article available online?

Check to see if the full text of the article is available in the database you are searching. Each database has its own way of indicating this. Examples:

  • Icon used by ProQuest databasesAnother icon used by ProQuest databases(Icons used by ProQuest databases, such as ProQuest Newspapers, CINAHL, etc.)
  • Icon used by WilsonWeb databases Another icon used by WilsonWeb databases (Icons used by WilsonWeb databases, such as Education Full Text, Humanities Index, etc.)
  • "html" or "PDF full text" (used by EBSCOhost databases, such as Academic Search Elite, etc.)

If the full text is available, you can read it online, print it, save it or email it to yourself.

If the full text is not available, it may be available elsewhere. Click the Find It button to locate a copy of the article. You will get one or more of the following messages:

Find It Message What it means
Full text available via... The article is available online in one of the library databases. Click on the link to go to the article.
Print version in Periodical List The article is available in print. Request a copy of the article to be scanned or photocopied and sent to you.
Print version in McIntyre Library Catalog Another option for indicating that a print copy is available in the library. Request a copy of the article to be scanned or photocopied and sent to you.
Request through Interlibrary Loan... Our library doesn't have this article but you can request a copy of it from another library.
