Checking Out Library Material
Checkouts require the presentation of your Blugold (ID) card or library patron card. ID cards are not transferable. Responsibility for all loans rests with the owner of the card presented. If you lose your ID card, immediately report such loss to the Blugold Card Office in Davies Center. No checkouts will be made without the proper identification card or library patron card. You may access your own online patron account information, or you may wish to have it looked up by the Circulation Desk staff. You must have your ID to initiate any search of your record, including requests for overdue or fine information.
Materials may be renewed twice. Patrons may renew their own materials either on their own by using their online patron account or at the Circulation Desk. No renewals will be accepted by phone.
If an item is checked out, you may request that a hold or Recall be placed on the item either through your own online patron account or at the Circulation Desk. When the item is returned to the Library, you will be notified of its availability. Holds cannot be placed on Reserve items. Community users cannot place holds or recalls.
Any material in circulation over 28 days is subject to recall. Items needed for placement on Reserve will be recalled immediately.
When you receive the notification that the item is available, please pick it up within 10 days. If not picked up, the item is returned to the stacks or made available to the next person in the hold queue.
On occasion, items with an "available" status cannot be located in their proper place on the shelf. If you encounter such a situation, complete a 'Not in Stacks' form at the Circulation Desk or Visit our Not in Stacks Online Form. Library staff will search for the item and if located will notify you of availability.
Community Users may register for a card at the Circulation Desk. The cards are good for two years upon payment of $20.00.
Emeriti records need to be updated every two years at the Circulation Desk.
Spouses with their proper UW-Eau Claire identification card obtained at the Blugold Card Office in Davies Center, may check out materials according to student loan periods.
