Course Reserve Articles

Linking to Course Reserve Articles provides students with access to resources available from the library. You can link to individual articles or to a list of all the articles for your course.

Individual Article:

There are a couple of different ways to link to individual eReserve course articles. You can go through the McIntyre Library homepage and click Course Reserve. However, in some circumstances the link generated by this route will not work for students trying to access it from off campus, particularly if it is referring them to an article in a database like JSTOR. The preferred way is to go through the Course Reserve Link Generator.

  1. Go to http://lib01.uwec.edu/Reserve/CourseReserveLinkGenerator.asp OR
From the McIntyre Library homepage click the following series of links:
Faculty and Staff » Placing Items on Reserve » Get the URL for your electronic reserves

  2. From the Select an Instructor pull-down menu, select your name.

  3. A list of your course will appear with the generated URL beside each course. Click on the course you wish to get the article from.

Linking to an Article in a Database

You may want to have your students read an article which is not in the McIntyre Library e-Reserve collection but is in one of the databases. The URLs for these articles are often temporary and stop working after a certain amount of time. To allow your students to reliably access the materials, we recommend that you create a persistent link to the article. See the McIntyre Library Article Link Generator to create a persistent link.
