Phishing and Spam
Individuals attempting phishing attacks are becoming more sophisticated all the time. A recent posting by the Director of Information Technology at Goshen College said they had their first example where the attackers used their logo, very accurate information about their Help Desk, phone number, support portal, etc. He claims they got lucky: the day before the attack, he scolded the campus and told them they were going to conduct their own ‘phishing test’ and expected them to spot it and not give away their credentials. Most people on campus assumed the phishing attempt was from the IT department!
