Scholarships

The following scholarships are available through the UW-Eau Claire Department of Kinesiology. Applications can be obtained from Mary Jo Fehr in McPhee 208 or by clicking HERE .

Ida Hinz Scholarship for Excellence in Physical Education Teaching ($100)

  1. Junior or Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible)
  2. Must be enrolled in the Physical Education Teaching emphasis or Sport Pedagogy emphasis.
  3. Must be a returning student for the next academic year
  4. Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  5. Demonstrated leadership and service related to major and/or profession.

Mary Mero Scholarship for Excellence in Human Performance ($200)

  1. Junior or Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible)
  2. Must be enrolled in the Human Performance emphasis
  3. Must be a returning student for the next academic year
  4. Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  5. Demonstrated leadership and service related to major and/or profession.

Jason Schluter Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Human Performance ($500)
Description: A March 16, 2007 traffic accident in Georgia claimed the lives of two UW-Eau Claire students traveling to Florida for spring break, including one of our Kinesiology majors, Jason Schluter, 23.  The Department of Kinesiology, in partnership with the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, has established the Jason Schluter Memorial Scholarship. The intent of the scholarship is to support the educational aspirations of future students who follow in Jason’s footsteps, have a similar zest for life and exhibit many of the outstanding qualities that made him a valued student in our program.

  1. Junior or Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible)
  2. Must be enrolled in the Human Performance emphasis
  3. Must be a returning student for the next academic year
  4. Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  5. Preference will be given to student completing cardiac rehabilitation internship.
  6. Preference will be given to the candidate who exhibits the outstanding qualities that made Jason Schluter a valued student in the Kinesiology program, including (but not limited to) the following attributes: compassionate, fun-loving, family and friend-oriented, and zest for life.

Chris Winkler Scholarship for Excellence in Athletic Training ($200)

  1. Junior or Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible).
  2. Must be a current athletic training student.
  3. Must be a returning student for the next academic year
  4. Grade point average should be 3.10 or higher.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and service related to major and/or profession.

Jeff Oliphant Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Athletic Training ($500)

  1. Junior or Senior status (a December graduate will still be eligible).
  2. Must be a current athletic training student.
  3. Must be a returning student for the next academic year
  4. Grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Demonstrated leadership and service related to major and/or profession.
