Help on Accessing a Microsoft Word Document
Netscape users-version 2.0 or 3.0
Saving File for Viewing Later
If the computer you are using does not have Microsoft Word or if you
would
like to keep a copy of the document for later use, you may want to save
the file. To save the document:
- To save the Microsoft Word file, from the web page, click on the
link for that document. The Unknown File Type dialog box will appear.
- From the Unknown File Type dialog box, Click Save File
- The Save As dialog box will appear. Select the appropriate
directory and in the File Name field enter a filename.
- Click OK
- The Saving Location dialog box will appear and the file will
be
downloaded to your computer
Configuring an External Viewer
By configuring an external viewer, Microsoft Word will automatically open
and load the document when you click on the link for the document from
the web page. You will only need to set up Microsoft Word as an external
viewer once; Netscape will remember you have done this in the future.
- Click on the Microsoft Word document link from the web page and
the
Unknown File Type dialog box will appear.
To cofigure Microsoft Word to open the file, from the Unkown
File Type dialog box, click Pick App
- The Configure External Viewer dialog box will appear. Click
Browse
- The Select an appropriate viewer dialog box will appear.
You
need to specify which directory you have Microsoft Word installed in.
When you have found the correct directory, from the
File Name scroll box, select WINWORD.EXE
- Click OK
- From the Configure External Viewer dialog box,
Click OK
- The Viewing Location progress indicator will appear
showing that downloading has begun. Microsoft Word will open the
document as soon as Netscape has finshed downloading.
Note: This file may take several minutes to download depending on
the computer and connection you are using. Please be patient.
