The Servant Team

The leaders of our Witnessing Communities make up our

core student leadership team, the Servant Team.

Our main student leadership team is called the Servant Team because we want to follow

Jesus' example of leadership:  He served.  He didn't serve to become great or popular or gain

power of others.  He considered service greatness.  And so our Servant Team, made

up of the leaders of our witnessing communities, are there to serve.  To be willing to wash the

feet of the chapter.  That's service. That's leadership.

The Servant Team meets twice a month,  on a Monday night to share and pray for one another and the chapter as a whole, and on a Sunday afternoon for training in evangelism, discipleship, and other issues.  The Servant Team also makes decisions about what happens within InterVarsity throughout the year, and the members are contacts for every member of the chapter to be able to have a say in what goes on.

The Servant Team must sign a Covenant.

We have a high standard of leadership within InterVarsity, and so we ask the members to

sign on to the Covenant that students established and revise yearly.

The Covenant is as follows:

Covenant

We as leaders have committed together to God and to

one another to the following:

Love God

  •     I will pursue spiritual growth through personal Bible study and prayer.

  •     I will strive to live a life of integrity and purity.

Love One Another

  •     I will be Christ-like in all my relationships.

  •     I will be committed to helping a younger Christian grow in their faith.

  •     I will reach out to new people at Large Group meetings.

Love the Lost

  •     I will pray personally (daily) and corporately (at least weekly) for the lost.

  •     I will be intentional about befriending and sharing my faith with non- Christians.
